This is the first course in the two-course sequence constructed to give engineering students a chance to experience real-world design challenge using project-based learning. Students team up to work on short STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) projects. Students will learn the overall design process, framing the problem, schedule planning, creating prototype, as well as learning how to communicate their ideas to audience via meetings, reports, and oral presentations. The course should be taken during freshmen year.
